Alexis Cornelius – My Journey, My Testimony

Hi there! I'm Alexis Cornelius, a college senior pursuing a degree in Public Health. Beyond academics, I'm deeply passionate about Jesus and health education. I wear many hats—I'm a babysitter, a small business owner of Angelic Adornment, and an art enthusiast who finds joy in painting, coloring, music, and working out to honor and care for the Lord's temple.

I was born and raised in South Carolina, where being the grandchild of a pastor laid the foundation of my faith. Growing up in the church, I learned about God but never truly had a relationship with Him. It wasn’t until I faced significant loss that I fully surrendered my life back to Him.

My Testimony

At the beginning of my junior year, Fall 2023, my grandmother passed away before I could process the loss of one of my orientation students. A week after burying my grandmother, my uncle tragically passed away in an unexpected work accident. These back-to-back losses shook me to my core and reminded me how fragile life truly is.

In the midst of this heartbreak, I turned to God like never before. I sought Him, not just in routine prayers, but with an open heart and an earnest desire to know Him. It was during this season that God revealed to me my gift for ministry.

But the journey didn’t stop there. On December 21st, 2024, I unexpectedly loss my father—just days before Christmas. This loss was a final wake-up call. I realized that life is too short not to share the Gospel boldly and to help others build a genuine relationship with Christ. So, I took a step of faith and truly started to be obedient to what the Lord called me to do.
